In the 9th match of the ongoing edition of Big Bash League (BBL), Hobart Hurricanes are going to lock horns against Perth Scorchers at the former's home ground, University of Tasmania Stadium (formerly known as Aurora Stadium), Launceston.

Both sides started off their campaign in a contradictory manner. The Ashton Turner-led side was victorious in their first game of the tournament against Sydney Sixers, defeating the three-time champions by 38 runs. This is the same number by which Hobart Hurricanes lost to Melbourne Stars in their opener.

As both sides collide on Dec 19, we shall quickly gaze through the necessities for building a strong fantasy team.

Ground Stats

BBL Matches: 8
Matches won Batting First: 3
Matches won Batting second: 5
Average First innings total: 139
Average Second innings total: 114

The numbers above state that the ground is known to be a low-scoring venue. It is good for the pacers as the bounce and carry is of true nature. The batters need to be careful with the shots they play.

Three must-picks of the Match

Jhye Richardson- The Australian pacer announced himself in the ongoing BBL season with a bang after scalping 4 crucial wickets in their last match against the Sixers. He is a handy operator with the new ball and also has excellent change-ups to dismantle the opposition during the slog overs.

Shadab Khan- The Pakistan allrounder might not have been at his best in the last match but his prowess in all three dimensions is impeccable. Shadab has the knack of picking wickets in the middle overs with his leg spin and currently, he is a much more evolved batter than he was years back.

Jason Behrendorff- The tall, lanky pacer made his debut for the Hurricanes in their previous game and bagged two crucial wickets. He purchases extra bounce off the surface and that makes the batters uncomfortable while playing shots. The left-arm pacer can be one of the must-picks for this definite reason.

Worth the risk picks

Aaron Hardie - A young 23-year-old kid who knows how to bat according to the situation. The allrounder came out to bat when the Scorchers were 39-4 against the Sixers. He smashed a 55 runs knock from 32 balls with five fours and three sixes to his name and eased off the pressure. Hardie can also turn out handy with some overs of right-arm medium pace.

Matthew Wade- The 34-year-old is one of the best wicketkeeper batters of Australia at the current time. The skipper of the Hurricanes has evolved his batting with time and can act according to the situation. It hardly takes some moments for Wade to switch gears when the need arises.
