Royal Challengers Benglauru fast bowler Yash Dayal has filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court seeking protection from arrest after being accused by a woman of emotional, mental, and physical exploitation. The woman claims Dayal made a false promise to marry her and misused that trust to have a physical relationship.

Yash Dayal Approaches Allahabad HC After FIR In Exploitation Case

The Ghaziabad Police registered a case against Dayal under Section 69 of the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with sexual relations obtained through deceit, such as lying about marriage plans. The complaint was filed by the woman on June 21 via the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s online grievance portal.

In response, Dayal has denied all allegations in his writ petition as reported by Indian Express. He claims there was no promise of marriage and no sexual relationship under false pretenses.

According to him, they were simply friends, and the relationship ended because things changed over time, not because he tricked her. He pointed out that even the woman mentioned in her complaint that his parents treated her like a daughter-in-law, which he argues shows his intentions were genuine.

“… as per the FIR, it has been admitted by the informant that she was treated like a daughter-in-law by the parents of the petitioner, meaning thereby that the intention of the petitioner was never to cheat her… However, it was the attitude of the victim which changed over the course of time, and the petitioner realised that he would not be able to marry her; as such, he decided to end the relationship,” the petition stated.

Dayal also questioned the delay in filing the complaint, suggesting it weakens her claims. He further alleged that the woman became close to him only after he gained fame and money in 2022 when he was bought by Gujarat Titans for ₹3.2 crore. He said she used emotional pressure and suicide threats to keep him from distancing himself.

In his petition, he claimed she would often send him pictures of self-harm and demanded he stay in contact. He stated that he complied only out of fear, not affection. The High Court will now consider his request to pause any arrest while the legal investigation continues.

The case is still under review, and no final judgment has been made.
