In a remarkable achievement, legendary batter Joe Root has registered the joint-most number of centuries against India in Test cricket. The talismanic cricket attained the landmark during the ongoing Test match at Lord's Cricket Ground.
Root Joins Smith On Elite List With Lord's Hundred
The incident occurred in the first over on day 2 of the Test as Joe Root managed to breach the three-figure mark on the very first delivery. This was his eleventh hundred against India as he joined Steve Smith for the most Test tons versus the South-Asian nation.
Interestingly, Joe Root was stranded on 99 at stumps on day 1. As soon as the second day began, Root dispatched Jasprit Bumrah's wide delivery to the fence, collecting four crucial runs and bringing up his 37th Test hundred.
