Veteran India star Vinod Kambli, recently admitted to the hospital due to medical issues, has been in the news recently. The left-handed middle-order batter was hospitalised due to blood clots; however, as Kambli disclosed in a video message, he is well and fine after receiving suitable treatment.

In his early days, the 52-year-old cricket star was versatile both on and off the field; he was a Bollywood actor. He appeared in two Bollywood movies, one was named Annarth, and the other was Pal Pal Dil ke Saath. Of the two, 'Annarth' was the most well-known, where he starred alongside Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty.

Vinod Kambli Starred As Bandya

The film follows Sameer Deshmukh, a Navy-trained man who returns to Mumbai and reunites with his childhood friend, the gangster Jai "Jimmy." As tensions rise between Jimmy and his powerful brother Raghav, Sameer, an undercover cop, navigates the dangerous world of crime.

Sameer and Jimmy's bond is tested as betrayal, love, and revenge unfold, especially after Jimmy's friend Bandya (played by Vinod Kambli) is killed on Raghav's orders. Sameer, with the help of his ally Iqbal, confronts Raghav and his associates in a final, explosive showdown to bring justice, avenging Jimmy’s death.

But known to a few, Vinod Kambli's movie Annarth was a mega flop, per reported by some. It was made at a budget of Rs 7 crore; however, the producers couldn't even recover the movie's cost. It failed to leave a mark at the box office despite featuring some big names.
