Shreyas Iyer, the Indian star who is in the limelight for his omission from the Asia Cup, is well-known for his excellent cricketing skills and captaincy, but little do people know that the Mumbai batter is a brilliant dancer and has moves that can easily steal hearts. In the age of social media, cricketers’ hidden talent is not-so-hidden anymore, and in 2021, the world witness Iyer showcasing his silky-smooth dance.

Back in 2021, the world witnessed Iyer’s dance skills as he grooved alongside Yuzvendra Chahal’s ex-wife, Dhanashree Verma. The actor, choreographer, Dhanashree, is known all over the world for her flawless dance skillset, and in 2021, she dropped a video featuring herself and Shreyas Iyer.

The flawless move which created a romantic link-up

In the video posted by Dhanashree, she and Shreyas Iyer were seen flaunting their shuffled dance moves, and she praised the Indian cricketer with a caption: “More skills on the board. You’ve aced it just like hitting a perfect six.”

Soon enough, the video went viral as comments flooded in with fans praising their chemistry, and some even trying to link up the two people. The internet went wild with their speculations, as many started to romantically link up the pair. Many felt the two were more than just dance partners, as it fuelled an unnecessary relationship which was never meant to happen. Neither of the two, or Chahal ever commented on the situation.

When fans blamed Iyer for Dhanashree-Chahal rift

For starters, Iyer and Dhanashree have always maintained a good relationship, but one dance video fuelled a fire that never should have happened. Last year, there were reports that Chahal and Dhanashree were living separately, and fans blamed Iyer for the rift created between the couple. However, in 2025, the relationship finally ended as Chahal and his ex-wife parted ways after 4 years of marriage, and people found different ways of dragging Iyer into their issues.
