Batting prodigy Shubman Gill was recently spotted joining the families of the martyred Indian soldiers at an event in Mumbai. The event itself was organized with an aim to honor the memory of the Indian soldiers who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks in Mumbai back on November 26, 2008.

Indian opening batsman Shubman Gill, who was rested from his team’s ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia, took his time to attend an event in Mumbai held to commemorate the memories of martyred soldiers from the city’s 2008 terrorist attacks.

The cricketer was spotted at the Gateway of India alongside the families of the martyred India soldiers on November 26 in 2023, which itself marked the 15th anniversary of the dreadful terrorist attacks.

Shubman Gill was last seen in action for the Indian team during the 2023 ICC ODI Cricket World Cup at home. The dashing opening batsman scored 354 runs across nine innings at an alluring average of above 44 throughout the tournament. Gill even drove Team India to emphatic victories with sparkling half-centuries against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Netherlands in the league stage.

The 24-year-old also pounded a match-winning 80* against New Zealand in the semi-finals. Unfortunately for him and the Indian team, he was dismissed for just four against Australia in the final in Ahmedabad on November 19.

As he continues to enjoy his time away from the field amidst India’s ongoing five-match T20I challenge against Australia, Gill is expected to reprise his role soon as the ‘Men in Blue’ are slated to tour South Africa in December for three T20Is, three ODIs and two Test matches.
