Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan seems to have fulfilled his promise and gotten on the right side again with his national teammate and young fast bowler Naseem Shah. Upon accidentally breaking Shah’s mobile phone during a training session in Pakistan, Rizwan gifted his own phone to the bowler.
It is worth noting that both cricketers will soon be joining several of their national colleagues in New Zealand for the upcoming three-match ODI series. Both Rizwan and Naseem Shah were excluded from Pakistan’s squad for the ongoing five-match T20I rubber.
Rizwan gifts own phone to Naseem Shah
Earlier this week, Mohammad Rizwan belted a huge six during a training session in Pakistan, only for the ball to break Naseem Shah’s mobile phone outside the boundary ropes. Shah, who seemed visibly upset at the time, received assurance from his national skipper of getting a new phone.
On March 23, in a trending video circulating on social media, Mohammad Rizwan can be seen addressing the fact that he stills owes Naseem Shah a phone, before handing over his own handset to the young speedster.
Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan, star fast bowler Naseem Shah as well as senior batter Babar Azam were all dropped by the PCB from Pakistan’s ongoing five-match T20I series in New Zealand.
The three cricketers were dropped after a series of lackluster performance in the recently-concluded 2025 ICC Champions Trophy and the preceding tri-nation ODI series against New Zealand and South Africa at home.
Rizwan, Naseem and Babar will now be making their returns to the Pakistan team for the three-match ODI series against the ‘Black Caps’. The first ODI will be hosted by the McLean Park in Napier on March 29.
