After their humiliating group-stage exit from the ICC Champions Trophy, Pakistan are getting ready to face New Zealand in an eight-match white-ball leg. Led by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan had a horrible outing in the Champions Trophy, losing two consecutive matches against New Zealand and India.

Meanwhile, an explosive report has claimed that Pakistan are considering dropping ace batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan from the T20I setup after the Champions Trophy debacle. 

One of Pakistan's most reliable media agency has reported that the veteran duo won't be included in the T20I team, while destructive top-order batter Mohammad Haris will mark his international return. 

It also states that Pakistan will likely bring experienced all-rounder Shadab Khan and pacers Mohammad Wasim Jr and Akif Javed back into their T20I setup. In 104 T20Is, Shadab has struck 679 runs while picking up 107 wickets with his wily leg spin. 


On the other hand, Wasim Jr and Akif have been impressive in the domestics and could be rewarded for their consistency. 

Naseem, Shaheen, Rauf Likely To Be Out Of ODI Squad vs NZ

The report also claims that the PCB is considering dropping the pace trio of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf for the ODI series against New Zealand. These fast bowlers had an abysmal Champions Trophy campaign, managing six wickets collectively at a horrendous average of 62.83. Thus, they could be excluded from the ODI squad because of their non-performance in the mega event.
