Jasprit Bumrah may be all about pace and aggression on the field but off it, he showed a completely different side in a hilarious rapid-fire round hosted by none other than his wife, Sanjana Ganesan. The Mumbai Indians speedster, famed for his laser-focused game face, loosened up and let his personality shine in this light-hearted exchange for Star Sports.

Bumrah’s 3 AM Friend Revelation

From revealing his 3 AM friend to choosing between superpowers, Jasprit Bumrah gave fans a rare glimpse into his off-field self.

When asked about his 3 AM friend, Bumrah had the perfect response – “You”, pointing at Sanjana. But in classic husband fashion, he didn’t stop there. He cheekily added, “You’re usually asleep before me, but if you’re not available, I have my childhood friends.”

The Side of Bumrah Fans Don’t Get To See

Bumrah might be the nightmare of batters worldwide but there’s a fun side to him that the world rarely gets to witness. When asked about something people don’t know about him, he confessed, “I can be funny sometimes, but that side hasn’t come out in public.” 

Given his on-field intensity, this revelation had fans buzzing with many now eager to see more of Bumrah the comedian.



Things got even more entertaining when Bumrah was asked which superpower he’d love to have. “The Flash’s speed or Hulk’s super strength,” he answered without hesitation. Sanjana, ever the quick-witted host, asked, “Why do you want to run fast?” To which Bumrah, ever the traveler, replied, “Because you can go anywhere in the world. It’s fascinating.”

Sanjana Ganesan, with a cheeky smile, suggested, “Buy a private jet then.” Bumrah, laughing, hit back with the perfect punchline, “I can decide my own superpower.” This playful banter had fans in stitches and it proved that the chemistry between these two is simply unmatched.

Bumrah’s IPL 2025 Return Update

While fans loved seeing Bumrah’s fun side, there is also an important update about his much-anticipated return to action. After missing the Champions Trophy due to a back injury, his IPL 2025 participation was in doubt. However, according to ESPNCricinfo, Bumrah will miss just a few matches and is expected to return in early April.

Mumbai Indians will kick off their season with a blockbuster clash against Chennai Super Kings on March 23, followed by a battle against Gujarat Titans on March 29. The ace pacer is likely to miss these games, along with the April 4 match against Lucknow Super Giants. However, if all goes well, he is expected to make his grand return in MI’s home game against RCB on April 7.

Currently, Bumrah is undergoing rehabilitation at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, with his final comeback timeline resting on medical clearance. While MI fans will miss their spearhead for a few games, his comeback promises to be a massive boost for the five-time champions.
