Gautam Gambhir, originally from Delhi, began his Indian Premier League (IPL) journey with the Delhi Daredevils (DD). However, when Sourav Ganguly stepped away from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Gambhir took over the reins and led the team to two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. 

After a stint with the Delhi Capitals in 2017 and retirement, he joined the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as a mentor. At the same time KKR haven't won an IPL title since 2014. 

When KKR faced challenges, co-owner Shah Rukh Khan wasted no time in bringing back Gautam Gambhir, the architect of their past successes. 

With Gambhir's return, KKR secured the top spot in the IPL points table. They are now set to clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the first qualifier in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Gambhir isn't just adored & trusted by SRK, the team owner, he's also a beloved figure among KKR fans.

Following a rain-affected match against Rajasthan Royals (RR), a fangirl of Gambhir and KKR was spotted holding a sketch depicting SRK and Gambhir celebrating with the IPL trophy, hoping for it to happen again this season. 

In a heartwarming gesture, Gambhir autographed the sketch and presented it to the fangirl, showcasing his appreciation for the love and support.


KKR will face SRH in Qualifier 1
