Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured their spot in the IPL 2024 playoffs with a thrilling victory over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their last group stage match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Now, RCB will face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Eliminator on Wednesday. 

After the game, a controversy erupted when RCB players appeared to neglect MS Dhoni for handshakes and instead celebrated their victory.

With speculation running that this match could potentially be Dhoni's last IPL game, although nothing has been confirmed, analysts like Harsha Bhogle and Michael Vaughan criticized the RCB players for their actions.

But RCB legend Virat Kohli, who shares a special bond with Dhoni, went to the dressing room to meet him after the game.

However, Kohli wasn't the only RCB legend to extend his respects to Dhoni. Chris Gayle also met with Dhoni after the game, and a picture of their interaction quickly went viral on social media.

RCB clinches epic win against CSK 

In the do or die game, batting first RCB posted a fighting total of 218/5, with all their batters contributing to set up a challenging target.

Despite CSK needing 219 to win the game, they only required 201 runs to qualify for the playoffs. However, their hopes suffered an early setback as their key player and captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, was dismissed on the first ball of the innings by Glenn Maxwell.

Despite Rachin Ravindra's consistent scoring, RCB maintained pressure by taking wickets at regular intervals.

Towards the end of the match, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja offered a slight hope for CSK fans with a promising partnership. 

However, Yash Dayal became clutch player for RCB and won the game for his team.
