Gautam Gambhir Likely To Replace Rahul Dravid As India's Head Coach After T20 World Cup 2024

In a significant news coming up from Indian cricketing circles, ESPNCricinfo has reported that BCCI has approached Gautam Gambhir to take up the position of Indian men's head coach after Dravid ends his tenure post the T20 World Cup.
Gambhir who has done superbly in the limited exposure in the coaching staff of IPL teams as mentor for LSG and KKR, and will have to take the decision before May 27 which is the deadline for applying for the job. BCCI is likely to have further discussions with Gambhir after KKR's IPL campaign ends, and it would be interesting to see how things shape up.
In an advertisement posted by BCCI, they have mentioned that the job will be for all three formats for the duration of three and a half year starting from July 2024 to December 2027.
Along with Gambhir, names like Justin Langer, VVS Laxman and Stephen Fleming have also popped out, but since Duncan Fletcher has left the Indian team, BCCI have preferred to go with Indian coaches. Dravid, the current Indian coach took over the role after India's early exit from the T20 World Cup 2021.
