In a riveting episode of Shubhankar Mishra's latest YouTube podcast, Bollywood actors Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem took center stage. Saqib recalled a memorable encounter with cricket legend Virat Kohli during their U-16 days. 

Virat Kohli, who recently retired from T20I cricket after a spectacular T20 World Cup 2024 win against South Africa, continues to influence both Indian and international cricketers with his unparalleled fitness regime.

Saqib shared a vivid memory of facing Virat Kohli in a club-level tournament.

"When I was playing U-19 cricket from Kashmir, Virat was representing Delhi. We played against each other, and I saw him bat for the first time. Even at 15, he hit the bowlers around the park, not just for small sixes but almost out of the school. That was when I realized he was a different kind of talent," Saqib recalled.

Kohli's retirement from T20I cricket came after a match-winning performance in the World Cup final, where he scored 76 off 59 balls and was named Man of the Match. Kohli remains at the pinnacle of his career and fitness, preparing to join the Indian squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka next month.

Interestingly, both Kohli and Rohit Sharma had initially planned to rest for the Sri Lanka series. However, at the request of Gautam Gambhir, they have agreed to play, with Kohli expressing his readiness to put past differences aside for the team's sake.
