Former Indian captain Virat Kohli turned 36 on Tuesday, November 5. While the modern-day batting legend had little reason to celebrate the occasion owing to India’s recent Test series defeat against New Zealand at home, his fans surely made it a day to remember for themselves.

Some of Kohli’s loyalists, seemingly knowing no bounds, even took to the streets and lit up firecrackers for the occasion. Interestingly, even certain police officers from the Indian city of Bhopal basked themselves in the festive spirit of Virat Kohli’s birthday during the early hours of November 5.

Bhopal police burst firecrackers for Kohli birthday

On November 5, a number of Bhopal city police officers celebrated the occasion of Virat Kohli’s birthday. The aforementioned police officers took to the streets and lit up firecrackers, and a particular fan donning an Indian jersey even cut a cake in honour of the legendary Indian cricketer.

Virat Kohli himself, however, had a series to forget against New Zealand despite playing within the confines of familiar home conditions. In six innings spanning three Tests, the right-handed batter minted just 93 runs at a below par average of 15.50. Moreover, Kohli scored 70 of those runs at a single go, doing so in the second innings of the series opener in Bengaluru.

The 36-year-old is currently prepping himself alongside the rest of his teammates for India’s upcoming tour of Australia. The Indian cricket team is slated to play a series of five Test matches from November 22 till January 7 next year. The first of those Tests will be hosted by the Optus Stadium in Perth.

With crucial WTC points on the line, it is imperative for Team India that Virat Kohli regains his lost touch with the bat, in a bid to make amends for recent horror show against New Zealand at home.
