In a significant development, Phil Salt has been confirmed to keep the wickets for England in the upcoming T20I West Indies series tour, despite the return of the captain Jos Buttler coming from a calf injury he suffered before.

The five-T20I series is all set to get underway on November 10 in Barbados, with Jos Buttler leading the side. Meanwhile, the West Indies and England are playing a three-match ODI series, levelling the series 1-1 in the contest.

Jos Buttler will return after skipping the West Indies ODI series; in his absence, Phil Salt and Harry Brook led the T20I and ODI sides, respectively.

Before the third and final ODI set to take place at Kensington Oval Barbados on November 6, the wicket-keeper batter Phil Salt revealed that he hasn’t done enough wicket-keeping for England in recent times.

"It's not something I've done a lot for England recently," Salt said. "But I enjoy keeping. I feel like that's where I offer most to the side," he added.

Phil Salt has been phenomenal with the bat, while with the gloves, he has kept wicket in 13 of his 59 matches for England Lions across formats. The 28-year-old will now have the opportunity to play wicket-keeping in the upcoming series against Men In Maroon.
