The politician showcased absolute dominance with his fiery shot in a friendly T20 match between political dignitaries and actors where Sunil Shetty also represented the latter's side.

The friendly T20 encounter saw Anurag Thakur, who was a common face in the sports scenario bash a cricketer-like square cut that might even embarrass Sourav Ganguly.

Anurag Thakur Plays Pro Level Shot!

A clip went viral of Anurag Thakur playing against the Abhineta XI for his side Neta XI in TB Awareness match where he bashed a massive square cut for a whopping six. 

Yusuf Pathan was partnering with him at the non-striker's end and the former sports minister was seen launching a short delivery for a flat six with his impressive cricketing shot.

The Exciting Friendly Match Ends In Disaster For Neta XI

Speaking of the awareness match, the Abhineta XI  narrowly defeated the Neta XI by two wickets. The match, held at Mumbai’s MCA Cricket Stadium, aimed to raise awareness about tuberculosis and saw Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in attendance.

Led by BJP MP Anurag Thakur, the Neta XI posted a competitive 249/3 in their 20 overs. Trinamool Congress MP Yusuf Pathan stole the spotlight with a blistering 119 runs, while former Indian cricket captain and Congress leader Mohammad Azharuddin contributed an unbeaten 54. Chandrashekhar Azad (Nagina MP) added 29 runs, and Thakur remained not out on 18.

Actor Suniel Shetty captained the Abhineta XI to a thrilling victory, chasing down the target of 251 with four balls to spare despite losing eight wickets. The stars showcased calculated batting to outpace the politicians’ aggressive total.
