Zubin Garg, the celebrated Assamese Bollywood singer, tragically passed away a few days ago due to a heart attack. Tributes and condolences have poured in from across the globe, with fans, artists, and fellow public figures expressing their grief. Among them, young Indian cricketer and Rajasthan Royals star Riyan Parag shared an emotional tribute, mourning the loss of the iconic singer.

Riyan Shares Tribute On Instagram Video

Born in Assam, Riyan Parag posted a heartfelt message on Instagram along with a video. In the emotional video, he described Zubin Garg as a warrior who brought recognition to Assam on both national and international stages through his Bollywood hits.

“Aap agar nahi talai to main Jubin Garg ki baat kar raha hoon, I used to call him Dabang Mama because he was such a warrior. He was a fighter because he changed perspectives of people who were not from Assam. He changed the fact that we are not someone who are coming from just a small place and can be rolled over. He was my Dabang Mama,” Parag told in the video.

The untimely death of Zubin Garg sent shockwaves through Assam, bringing the state to a standstill. Reports state that Garg was in Singapore to perform at the Northeast Festival. Although he wore a life jacket, he reportedly removed it due to discomfort, and moments later was found floating in the sea. Despite immediate rescue efforts, he could not be saved.

Riyan Parag expressed that the loss felt deeply personal to him, as well as a huge blow to the music industry where Garg contributed numerous memorable hits. Nevertheless, currently on a break, Parag will focus on domestic cricket before resuming his journey in India’s T20I setup.
