The stage is set for the much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four, scheduled for September 21. Ahead of the high-voltage encounter, India’s star spinner Kuldeep Yadav has received a strong vote of confidence from his childhood coach, Kapil Pandey.

Kuldeep Yadav's Childhood Coach Backs Him

Speaking to ANI, Pandey expressed belief in India’s strength and backed his disciple Kuldeep to deliver another match-winning spell with a five-wicket haul this time.

“Our team is very strong. They have defeated Pakistan in the earlier match, so their morale is high. Pakistan is under pressure as they have lost once. Our team is very balanced. It's time that Kuldeep should pick five wickets, and even if he doesn't pick five wickets, he should bowl well and take the main wickets and make the team proud,” Pandey said.

Kuldeep Yadav has been India’s standout bowler in the tournament so far, taking eight wickets in three matches at an economy rate of 5.24 and an impressive strike rate of 6.00. His best performance came with a four-wicket haul against UAE, followed by three wickets against Pakistan earlier in the group stage.

Kuldeep To Pair Up With Bumrah?

With his coach’s encouragement behind him, Kuldeep is expected to play a key role once again. Partnering with pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the Oman clash, Kuldeep should try to exploit the batting vulnerabilities of Men in Green to help India's batting side get the most advantage.

On the batting front, India will rely on openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill to provide a solid start, while Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma aim to anchor the middle order. Both teams will be desperate for their first win in the Super Four stage, making this clash one of the most anticipated contests of the tournament.
