With the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 knocking on the door, India's talented batter Jemimah Rodrigues has opened up and talked about a sweet memory that has left fans abuzz. In a recent interview, she opened up about a memorable “cafe date” with none other than Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma in New Zealand.
Back in 2022, during a tour where both the men’s and women’s teams were staying in the same hotel, Jemimah and her teammate Smriti Mandhana decided to seek advice from Kohli on batting.
When they asked, Virat warmly invited them to join him for a coffee. To their astonishment, Anushka joined as well, making the gathering a memorable night.
Jemimah Rodrigues Had A Secret 4-Hour Chat With Virat Kohli
Talking to Mashable India, Jemimah Rodrigues revealed she met Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma for a coffee outing in 2022. At first, the conversation was all about cricket. Kohli shared valuable tips and even encouraged Jemimah and Smriti with powerful words.
However, the meeting continued. A half-hour cricket conversation quickly expanded into a four-hour discussion about dreams, life, and everything else. Jemimah fondly recalled how it felt like catching up with long-lost friends.
"Anushka was also there. First half an hour we talked about cricket. He actually told Smriti and me that 'you both have the power to change women's cricket, and I can see that happening. Then we spoke about life. It felt like a few long-lost friends who met and spoke. The only reason we stopped was because the café staff kicked us out," Rodrigues said.
The funniest part was that their chat went on for so long that the cafe staff eventually had to ask them to leave.
This candid moment shows another side of Virat and Anushka, not just global icons but also warm, approachable people who made two young cricketers feel at home.
