In a show of cross-sport solidarity, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins has thrown his support behind the home team in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), Telugu Titans. The Titans shared a promotional video featuring Cummins, showcasing his fiery side to warn the rivals ahead of season 11.

Pat Cummins, the Australian World Cup winning captain, earned a separate fan base in India, especially Andhra Pradesh, following his successful stint with SRH as captain in 2024 IPL season where the franchise finished as runners up. Ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction, Pat Cummins is likely to be retained by SRH, given he confirms his availability.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins recently featured in an unexpected crossover between cricket and kabaddi as Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 11 kicked off on October 18. Cummins shot a promotional video for the home team, Telugu Titans, with the aim of encouraging the team. Moreover, as the captain of SRH, Cummins is a highly influential figure, and his support brings additional attention to the Telugu Titans.

In the video, Pat Cummins fired a symbolic warning to other PKL franchises with his sharp and fierce looks. The video had the message of ‘Don’t Dare Us’ as Titans aim to establish themselves as serious title contenders. Notably, the Titans have never won a PKL title in the past 10 seasons but will look to change the narrative this year.

SRH votes for Cummins, Klaasen, Abhishek’s retention

The IPL 2025 retention deadline is approaching, and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has reportedly finalised as many as 3 names. Heinrich Klaasen will likely be the first to be retained at INR 23 crores, followed by captain Pat Cummins at INR 18 crores, a significant dip from his last year’s INR 20.50 crores salary. In addition to this, SRH will go for Abhishek Sharma as the third retention for INR 14 crores. Interestingly, Travis Head has been excluded from the probable list.
