Star player Smriti Mandhana was missing from the upcoming episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, which is set to celebrate the Indian women’s cricket team’s historic World Cup victory. The absence of Mandhana has sparked curiosity among fans, especially amid heightened attention on her personal life in recent weeks.

The show, hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma, will feature Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Renuka Singh, Harleen Deol, Radha Yadav, and Pratika Rawal. Head Coach Amol Mazumdar is also expected to appear.

Smriti Mandhana skips The Kapil Sharma Show

A recently released promo revealed Smriti Mandhana was not part of the celebrations. In the promo, Kapil Sharma asks Harmanpreet Kaur about the bhangra moves she performed while lifting the World Cup trophy. 

Jemimah Rodrigues shares that it was Mandhana who encouraged her to dance, saying, “Harry didi hum logon ki baat nahi sunti hai. Par Smriti ne bola tha ki agar bhangra nahi kiya toh main baat nahi karungi life bhar”. (Harry didi doesn’t listen to us, but Smriti said if I didn’t do the Bhangra, she wouldn’t talk to me for life).

Mandhana not present for Women’s World Cup Celebration

Mandhana’s absence comes after she called off her wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal. Earlier this month, she confirmed on Instagram stories that the wedding had been cancelled and requested privacy for both families. Palash Muchhal also confirmed the news on his Instagram.

The wedding, initially scheduled for November 24 in Mandhana’s hometown, was first postponed after her father suffered a sudden health scare during pre-wedding festivities. Soon after, reports surfaced of health issues involving Palash Muchhal. 

Later, rumours of personal disagreements led to the indefinite postponement and, eventually, the cancellation of the wedding. Fans quickly noticed Mandhana’s absence in the show's promo and flooded social media with reactions.
