Shubman Gill, rejuvenating himself with a holiday in London after India’s demoralizing 2023 World Cup final defeat to Australia, caught up with IPL teammate Rashid Khan in the city. Khan recently underwent a back surgery in London where he expressed his delight on seeing his Gujarat Titans teammate and franchise’s newly-elected captain.

Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan reunite in London

Earlier this week, Indian batsman Shubman Gill was spotted alongside his friends in London during a much-needed break away from the game. Whilst in the city, the cricketer decided to attend his IPL and Gujarat Titans teammate Rashid Khan.

Appreciating the gesture, Khan embraced Gill’s visit and acknowledged the Indian opening batsman as “captain sahab”, thus referring to the latter’s newly designated role as skipper of the Gujarat Titans franchise for IPL 2024 season.

Khan was troubled by back issues during his stay in India last month for the 2023 World Cup. While he has already opted himself out of Adelaide Strikers’ upcoming BBL 2024 campaign, the Afghanistan all-rounder is working towards attaining full recovery in time for next year’s IPL 2024 and T20 World Cup 2024 events.

Shubman Gill, meanwhile, will soon be taking flight to South Africa along with his national teammates. The 24-year-old is already included in India’s T20I and Test squads, and the fixtures are slated to commence on December 10 in Durban’s Kingsmead Stadium.
