London has been the preferred host to multiple first-choice Indian stars currently rejuvenating themselves on a holiday since the painstaking ICC World Cup 2023 final defeat. 

After legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, it was rising young opener Shubman Gill, who was clicked in the beautiful city in the United Kingdom on a break taken to recharge his batteries. 

Gill was clicked with his friends in London in a viral pic on social media as he strives to overcome the bitter loss in the Ahmedabad final and comeback refreshed for the looming tour to South Africa.

The 24-year-old batter, who will be key to India's chances against the Proteas in the rainbow nation, has been picked for the T20Is and Tests in December-January and will be skipping the ODIs sandwiched between the two assignments to take part in a three-day intra-squad game for Test series preparations. 

The picture came out on Tuesday (December 5) as Gill was seen roaming about with his group of friends in London. The cricketer chose the destination for its calming vibes and familiarity, with Team India being regular travellers to the English shores for cricketing assignments. 


Gill will be hoping the break does him world of good mentally after undergoing a sustained high-pressure phase for the World Cup ambitions in October-November. Having been constantly on the road, the youngster had been rested from the just-concluded five-match T20I series but remains an integral part of the all-format set-up. 

The elegant right-hander was in tremendous form during the World Cup. After missing the initial pair of games due to an untimely bout with dengue, Gill came into his own and blasted 354 runs in his nine innings at a strike-rate of 106.94.
