The Australian leg of Pakistan's tour kicked off with a warm-up encounter against the Australian Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval in Canberra on December 6.

The young speedster Jordan Buckingham was on fire, making life difficult for the Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq by swinging the ball both ways before finally getting one to sneak back and dismiss the left-hander for just 9.

Abdullah Shafique and newly appointed captain Shan Masood, who walked in at No. 3, orchestrated a 58-run partnership for the second wicket before the former was dismissed. Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam then stepped up and looked in a great touch.

With a dynamic 92-run partnership for the 3rd wicket, Shan Masood and Babar Azam injected a dose of optimism into the hearts of Pakistan fans. The seasoned batters took charge against the PM XI bowlers and scored runs at a brisk rate.

While things were heating up in the partnership, Babar Azam added a comic touch at the non-striker's end. He got so into the game that he tried to catch a straight drive from the skipper with gloves on, but missed the ball as it zipped past him.
