Shubman Gill Back In Gossip Spotlight For Allegedly Dating Varun Dhawan's Niece

Team India young star and current Test captain Shubman Gill is once again making headlines, and this time it’s not for his batting skills. After helping India draw the recent five-match Test series against England 2-2 with some solid performances, Gill has found himself at the center of fresh dating rumours.

A video shared on Instagram by the page Stargazeofficial has set social media abuzz. In the clip, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan’s niece, Anjali Dhawan, is seen leaving a café in Mumbai. The page claimed that Anjali was there for dinner with Shubman Gill, sparking immediate whispers of a possible relationship between the two. 

However, it is worth noting that there has been no confirmation from either side, and the authenticity of the video, including when and where it was shot is, still unclear.

Shubman Gill Opens Up On His Relationship Status

What makes this more interesting is that Gill himself spoke about his personal life just a few months ago. In an interview, he admitted that he has been single for more than three years. Addressing the constant rumours around him, Gill said,

"I mean, I've been single for over three years. There have been so many speculations and rumours, linking me with different people. And sometimes, it's so ridiculous that I would have never even seen or met that person ever in my life. And I would be hearing rumours that, 'I'm with this person and this person where else I'd be like'."

This isn’t the first time that Gill has been linked to well-known personalities. Over the past few years, fans and media have often connected him with Bollywood stars like Sara Ali Khan, Avneet Kaur and even cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara Tendulkar. 

Yet, none of these rumours have ever been confirmed, and Gill continues to maintain that he is single.

Amid this gossip, Gill has been entrusted with an important leadership role: he has been named vice-captain of India’s squad for Asia Cup 2025, with Suryakumar Yadav as captain. This announcement was made today, August 19, 2025.
