Indian cricketer Sanju Samson has expanded his horizons beyond the cricket field by becoming the co-owner of Malappuram FC, a football club in the Super League Kerala. Malappuram is the second club from the district to compete in the tournament after Gokulam FC.

Sanju Samson, one of India's most loved cricketers, is struggling to cement his place in the national side due to inconsistency and profound competition.

He featured in the five-game T20I series against Zimbabwe and managed to score only 70 runs in 3 games. Not only that, in two T20Is against Sri Lanka, Sanju got two ducks.

Meanwhile, while being away from the cricket field, Sanju Samson is exploring different avenues to cherish his love for other sports, including football.

Sanju Samson Now A Co-Owner Of Football Club

Recently, Malappuram FC from Super League Kerala welcomed Sanju Samson on board as co-owner. There had been speculation about Samson being interested in buying minority stakes in the team that already has multiple investors.

The rumours were put to rest as the Malappuram FC confirmed the news via social media earlier today. Samson, who has often expressed his passion for football, sees this new venture as a way to give back to his community and contribute to the growth of the sport in Kerala.

Malappuram FC, based in a district renowned for its football passion, has been striving to make a mark in the local football scene. Samson's association brings not only financial support but also a significant increase in visibility and interest in the club.

Samson Recalled In Duleep Trophy 2024 As Injury Replacement

Meanwhile, after being initially ignored, Sanju Samson has been drafted into Duleep Trophy Team D led by Shreyas Iyer as injury replacement for wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kisan.

While it's an opportunity for Samson to regain form, he was snubbed for the first round as Srikar Bharat was selected for the wicket-keeper role in the playing XI. With two more rounds to go, Sanju Samson can expect to feature in at least one game.
