The Tendulkar family had a very special reason to celebrate this week: the birthday of Sachin Tendulkar’s beloved mother. The celebration, however, grabbed extra attention as it marked the first social media appearance of Arjun Tendulkar’s fiancee, Saaniya Chandhok, alongside the family.

On Friday, Sachin shared heartwarming pictures from the celebration on his social media, wishing his mother in Marathi. The post quickly went viral, not only because of the legendary cricketer’s touching words but also because of Saaniya’s presence in the family frame.

Saaniya Joins Tendulkar Family In Special Celebration

Arjun Tendulkar, the 25-year-old left-arm pacer who plays domestic cricket for Goa and represents the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, got engaged to Saaniya on August 13 in a private ceremony attended only by close relatives and friends.

Since the news came out, Saaniya Chandok was seen with the Tendulkar family for the first time during Sachin’s mother's birthday celebration.

Interestingly, Sachin himself confirmed the rumours recently during a Reddit AMA session. When asked by a fan, the Master Blaster replied, “Yes, he did [get engaged], and we are all very excited for the new phase in his life.”

Saaniya Chandhok, 26, comes from a well-known business family. She is the granddaughter of Ravi Ghai, whose Graviss Group runs several successful ventures in the food and hospitality industry, including Baskin-Robbins’ India franchise and The Brooklyn Creamery.

Arjun Tendulkar’s Career So Far

Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun, is a talented left-arm medium-fast bowler and handy left-handed batsman. He began his domestic career with Mumbai but shifted to Goa in 2022 for greater opportunities. His move bore fruit almost immediately when, on his Ranji Trophy debut, he scored a sensational 120 runs.

Arjun has been with the Mumbai Indians since 2021. He made his IPL debut in 2023, where he took his maiden wicket by dismissing Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

He has 532 runs with a 23.13 average and 37 wickets in 17 first-class games. Moreover, he played 24 T20s, taking 27 wickets at an average of 25.07.
