Team India all-rounder Shardul Thakur is currently enjoying his time in England as part of the five-match Test series against England. Ahead of the fourth Test match at Old Trafford in Manchester, which begins on July 23, Shardul shared a sweet moment online.

Shardul Thakur Drops Sweet Mirror Selfie with Wife From Lift 

He posted an adorable mirror selfie with his wife Mittali Parulkar inside a lift. Mittali was seen wearing a white dress paired with a denim jacket, while Shardul kept it casual in a beige T-shirt and white pants. The couple looked very happy and shared the picture on their Instagram stories.

For those who may not know, Shardul Thakur and his wife have been together for a long time. They met during their school days, and their friendship gradually blossomed into love. The couple got engaged in 2021 and later tied the knot in 2023 in a traditional Marathi ceremony.

Shardul's Recent Performance In England Test Series

On the cricketing side, Shardul Thakur played in the first Test of the series in Leeds. However, it wasn’t his best performance. He bowled 6 overs in the first innings but didn’t take any wickets and gave away 38 runs. In the second innings, he managed to take 2 wickets but had an expensive economy rate of 5.56 runs per over.

With the bat, he scored only 1 and 4 runs in the two innings, which was disappointing considering his past performances in domestic cricket and the IPL, where he played for the Lucknow Super Giants.

Because of this below-par performance, he was replaced in the second Test by another all-rounder, Nitish Kumar Reddy, who had earlier impressed with a century at the MCG. But now, Reddy has suffered a serious injury during the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 and has been ruled out of the last two Tests.

This injury setback for Reddy opens the door for Shardul Thakur to return to the playing XI for the 4th Test in Manchester.
