Indian leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who has done a tremendous job for the Men in Blue over the past few years, has revealed his role model. Speaking during an event, Bishnoi confirmed that he idolises former Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
Bishnoi Follows Kohli's Fitness Regime
One of the finest ever Test skippers for India, Virat Kohli might have bid goodbye to the white jersey and T20I cricket. However, he remains an active part of the ODI setup and continues to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for his beloved Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) side.
Now, Kohli's Indian teammate and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi attended an event in New Delhi on Saturday, where he recently spoke to the news wire agency ANI (Asian News International) and uncovered his idol in terms of fitness and dedication. When asked which former Indian captain Bishnoi follows, the 24-year-old revealed that he is a massive fan of Virat Kohli, the former Indian skipper.
"I look up to Virat Bhai [Virat Kohli], he is very fit. You can see his aggression on the field and off the field. When he bats or fields, you can see that energy, which fitness brings to your game, you get an extra push from it. I idolise him in fitness. I can't go to his level, but I try to get close to him."
The spinner disclosed that, because of his fitness, Kohli has extra aggression both on the field and off it, while adding that the energy that he adds to the game gives the side an extra push, which is why he always tries to reach his level, although he, according to him, is in no way near it.
Bishnoi's Impressive Record In Blue Jersey
Bishnoi, who has been a regular part of the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, has also performed decently for the Men in Blue in international cricket. Playing a total of 42 T20I games so far, the Jodhpur-born has picked up 61 wickets at an average of 19.38 with an economy of 7.36 in his overall T20I career so far.
In the IPL, he has taken a total of 72 wickets in 77 matches and continues to be a crucial part of the Rishabh Pant-led LSG side.
