In a country where cricket is often described as a religion, the Indian Premier League (IPL) extends sport to become a cultural spectacle among the fans. Among the league’s most beloved franchises, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has occupied a unique space in the hearts of fans.
Creator’s Hilarious QR Code Stunt Goes Viral
Tapping into that potent mix of devotion and humour, content creator Sarthak Sachdeva launched a social experiment that has since taken the internet by storm. He printed QR codes linked to his personal payment account with the message “Donate ₹10 for RCB Goodluck”, and began pasting them across public walls, lampposts, and street corners across the city.
What initially seems like a joke quickly turns into a social media sensation as strangers begin scanning the codes and actually sending money.
“I honestly didn’t expect people to take it seriously. It was meant to be a fun social experiment,” Sarthak later said. “But by the end of the day, I had ₹1,200 in my account—all from random well-wishers or RCB fans.
The video, posted on social media, struck a chord with fans and quickly went viral, amassing 3.5 million views.
RCB & CSK's Tournament So Far
RCB will face CSK in Match 52 of the IPL 2025, scheduled for May 3, 2025, at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
As the tournament enters its final leg, the stakes are high for the home side. With seven wins from ten matches, RCB currently sits third on the points table with 14 points, and a win today would further solidify their position in the top four, keeping their playoff hopes firmly on track.
The Rajat Patidar-led side has showcased notable consistency this season, particularly in away matches, and will be eager to carry that momentum into their remaining fixtures-especially at home, where results have been less convincing.
On the other hand, it’s a contrasting story for the Chennai Super Kings. The five-time champions have officially become the first team to be knocked out of IPL 2025. With just four wins from 10 matches, CSK has failed to find rhythm this season.
