A number of Bollywood stars assembled at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to witness India’s high-profile World Cup 2023 semifinal showdown against New Zealand. John Abraham and Ranbir Kapoor were just some of the several personalities to have graced the venue, as they were spotted enjoying Team India’s run-fest upfront.

Bollywood stars converge at Wankhede

The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai witnessed a capacity turnout on the occasion of India’s World Cup 2023 semi-final clash against New Zealand. Among scores of fans to have attended the venue, a number of Bollywood stars also flocked the arena to extend their support for Team India.

During the Indian innings upfront, Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor, John Abraham, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra were spotted sitting together at the stands. Ranbir Kapoor even donned India’s World Cup 2023 jersey on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Team India entertained the crowd to the fullest by putting up a dazzling batting exhibition, amassing nearly 400 in their innings after winning the toss and opting to bat first.

Captain Rohit Sharma blazed his way to a 29-ball 47 at the top, while his opening partner Shubman Gill listed an imperial unbeaten half-century. Emboldened by the powerplay blitzkrieg, middle-order batters Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer blasted scintillating hundreds while KL Rahul clubbed a 20-ball 39* in the death overs to take India to a colossal 397-4 in their 50 overs.
