The India vs England game at Lucknow of World Cup 2023 saw Shreyas Iyer throwing his wicket away off the short ball and soon the calls of his ouster from the team started making rounds. However, since then, the man has been on a mission and has now slammed two consecutive centuries, to become the first man in the World Cup history to score 500 or more runs while batting at number 4 or below.

Iyer looked in his elements right from the ball one and slammed eight mighty sixes on his way to a 67-ball hundred. Overall, his partnership with Virat Kohli ensured that India got to a humongous score of 397 in a crucial semifinal. It was a party environment at the iconic Wankhede Stadium and when Shreyas Iyer got to his century, an interesting move by the Indian captain grabbed lot of eyeballs.
