The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is preparing a documentary that will capture the 10-year journey of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). According to a report, the board has decided to produce a film that tells the complete story of how the PSL went from a risky idea in 2016 to becoming one of the world’s most followed T20 leagues by 2025.
The timing of the announcement is significant. Just months ago, the 10th edition of the PSL ended in dramatic fashion, with Lahore Qalandars defeating Quetta Gladiators in a thrilling final at Gaddafi Stadium.
PCB To Glorify PSL’s 10-Year Milestone
According to Geo TV, PCB will produce a documentary to unveil the 10-year journey of PSL. The documentary will not just focus on the shining moments but also on the hurdles and challenges the PSL faced along the way.
From organising the league in Dubai during its early years to finally bringing it home to Pakistan, to surviving the difficult COVID-19 era, every chapter of PSL’s growth will be covered.
The report further claims that the film will be produced with international standards in mind. The PCB is expected to invite proposals from top production houses next week, ensuring the documentary does justice to the PSL’s global reputation.
Officials have also hinted at the involvement of well-known filmmakers to make it a project worthy of the league’s stature.
PSL Documentary Unlikely To Be Released In India
Meanwhile, the upcoming documentary on PSL’s journey is unlikely to be released in India due to persistent political and border tensions between India and Pakistan.
After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the Indian army retaliated by targeting terror camps in PoK. The Pakistan army responded too, resulting in serious armed conflict in May 2025. Since then, Pakistani TV, YouTube and social media accounts have been banned in India.
