Even as the IPL 2025 season takes a brief hiatus, Punjab Kings are keeping fans connected through emotional gestures. The franchise tugged at heartstrings by sharing a touching video on social media, featuring their skipper Shreyas Iyer and his mother, encapsulating the warmth and love of Mother’s Day.

The clip, adorned with candid moments and laughter, showcased the bond between the cricketer and his biggest supporter. He revealed how her unwavering guidance extends beyond his personal life into his cricketing career.

Iyer Reveals Heartwarming Bond With His Mom

In a short clip released by Punjab Kings on their official social media handle, with the background song of 'Mumma' sung by Kailash Kher, a collage of Shreyas Iyer spending a memorable time with his mother was shown. The video saw Iyer's childhood pics and special moments from his victories on the field. 

In the video, Iyer shared his mother's contributions in his life stating, "The woman who has inspired me is my mom. She is the pillar of my life. She supported me through thick and thin, And she's like a talisman for me specially during my matches."

Iyer's Stellar Season In IPL 2025

While the ex-KKR skipper is having a break from cricket now, along with the entire IPL participants, a recent report shared details of IPL ready to resume from May 15. While the ceasefire violations might trouble the smooth operations of the tournament, a positive notification is expected soon.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer was at his top form this IPL season. He gathered 405 runs already from his 12 innings at an average of 50.63 and an astonishing strike rate of 180.80. 

Iyer's opening match heroics in IPL 2025, 97 against Gujarat Titans and 82 against SRH speak of dominance. With 2 matches left to go in PBKS' league stage, if IPL resumes, Iyer might end up getting close to the orange cap while currently standing 10th on the list.
