The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is likely to resume this week after a short suspension due to the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. All the foreign players have been advised to join their respective teams by Tuesday, so that the tournament can re-start quicky.

However, as per reports, the Australian players are unlikely to turn up, especially players who are a part of the teams which are already out of the IPL playoff race. One such team is the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who are led by Aussie captain, Pat Cummins.

However, if the reports are to be believed, Cummins is unlikely to return back for the tournament and now the question arises, who will lead SRH in remaining games if Cummins doesn't come.

1) Heinrich Klaasen

One of the best hitters in T20 format, Heinrich Klaasen has prior experience of leading South Africa in T20Is, and that experience could come in handy if Cummins doesn't come to India for the remaining matches. Apart from Cummins, the Proteas hitter is the most experienced player in the side and SRH can trust him to provide stability.

As a batter, Klaasen is street smart, and he could have used that smartness in his captaincy for the SRH side.

2) Ishan Kishan

If Klaasen is not picked as the captain, SRH can turn upto Ishan Kishan, who has the experience of leading Jharkhand in the domestic circuit. This season, Cummins' captaincy has been questionable, and if Kishan does well in the remaining games, there could also be a chance that the SRH owner might look at him as the future leader of the SRH side.

3) Jaydev Unadkat

Now, Jaydev Unadkat is not your go to choice for SRH captaincy, but the left-arm seamer has a terrific record as captain in domestic cricket. In the last five domestic Ranji season, he has led Saurashtra to the finals on three occasions, winning two titles and solidifying himself as one of the smartest brains in Indian cricket.

He can be a brilliant short-term solution for captaincy if Cummins decides not to turn up for the remaining IPL matches.
