Retired Pakistani cricketer Imad Wasim, in an official and public announcement, has confirmed the separation from his wife Sannia Ashfaq. The 37-year-old cricketer was married to the British-origin wife for 6 years before they decided on a mutual divorce.

Taking to his official social media handle, Wasim confirmed that due to unresolvable conflicts, he, as well as Sannia, have come to the decision of parting ways with each other.

How Imad Wasim and Sannia met each other

Sannia and the veteran Pakistan all-rounder came close in a rather instantaneous connection back in 2018 when the cricketer came for an England tour. The couple met on the streets of London when sparks flew, and they decided to marry each other after dating in August 2019.

After the marriage, they threw in a grand reception party decorated by many famous cricketers and popular celebrities. Notably, the couple also bears three children whom they have kept private from the eyes of the internet.

Wasim demands discretion from public

Nevertheless, after the separation, Imad have demanded complete privacy from fans and followers in the statement.

“After much thought, and due to repeated conflicts that could not be resolved over the past few years, I have filed for divorce. I sincerely request everyone to respect our privacy and avoid using or sharing any old couple photos. Please also refrain from referring to her as my spouse going forward,” Wasim wrote

Imad Wasim further detailed that no defamation remarks or misleading narratives will be tolerated on their divorce, as he also stands firmly by his children even after the separation.

“I request everyone not to engage in or believe any misleading narratives. Any attempt to defame or involve others in this personal matter will be addressed through the proper legal channels if necessary. Regarding the children, I remain their father and will continue to care for them fully and responsibly. Thank you for your understanding and respect,” Wasim wrote.

As the ex-Pakistan cricketer draws an end to his chapter of love that brewed since 2019, no comment or address regarding this matter has been confirmed from Sannia herself yet.
