Pakistani actress Nazish Jahangir recently found herself at the center of a social media storm after a comment she made regarding a hypothetical marriage proposal from star cricketer Babar Azam. The backlash from Azam's diehard fans was swift and severe. When asked on Instagram how she would respond if the cricketer proposed to her, Jahangir simply replied, "Maaazarat hi karun gi" (I would politely decline the offer).
This light hearted comment ignited a flurry of angry reactions from Babar Azam's fans. Situation worsened so much that Jahangir had to switch her Instagram account from public to private in an effort to protect herself from any negativity.
Legal Woes Deepen For Nazish Jahangir
In the midst of this controversy on Babar Azam, the actress's troubles deepened as an arrest warrant was issued against her in connection with a fraud case. Lahore's Defense-C police were instructed to take Jahangir, along with co-accused Sikandar Khan, into custody and ensure their appearance in court by March 22.
The legal action was initiated by fellow actor Aswad Haroon, who accused Jahangir of deception, fraudulent inducement for the transfer of property, and even making threats involving weapons (according to ARY News report).
According to Haroon's complaint, Jahangir borrowed his vehicle and Rs. 5 million, promising to return them within two months. However, after six months, she allegedly failed to complete her commitment.
