Pakistan vice-captain, Shadab Khan, has been under the scanner for his form lately. While he has put in some strong performances, he made a costly mistake in the 3rd T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park, Auckland, on March 21.
Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first, hoping to turn things around after suffering back-to-back defeats in the five-match series. However, an unfortunate misfield by Shadab in the 5th over didn’t help their cause.
Shadab Khan’s Misfield Gives Away 4 Runs
During Haris Rauf’s over, New Zealand’s Mark Chapman played a shot towards mid-off, where Shadab was positioned. It was a slower-length delivery, and Chapman checked his drive along the ground. It should have been a routine stop, but Shadab misjudged it completely, allowing the ball to slip past him and race to the boundary.
It was a moment of frustration for Haris Rauf, as such mistakes can be costly at this level. The commentators weren’t impressed either; this was an error that should never have happened.
