In a candid chat that’s set to send cricket and Bollywood fandoms into a frenzy, Bollywood actress Nushrat Bharucha has declared former Indian captain MS Dhoni her undisputed favourite cricketer, leaving Virat Kohli stans momentarily heartbroken. 

The revelation came during a lively episode of Shubhankar Mishraa’s YouTube Podcast, where the Pyaar Ka Punchnama star spilled the tea on her cricket loyalties, and why “Captain Cool” MS Dhoni reigns supreme in her heart.

Bharucha Reveals How She Became A Dhoni Fangirl!

When host Shubhankar Mishraa playfully grilled Bharucha to pick between modern-day legend Virat Kohli and the iconic MS Dhoni, the actress didn’t hesitate. “I would pick MS Dhoni,” she declared, flashing a grin. Explaining her choice, she reminisced about the era that turned her into a cricket enthusiast.

 “Maybe it’s because when I truly became a cricket fan, Dhoni was at his rising career peak. I was like, ‘Kya Admi hai!’ (What a man!).”

Bharucha’s admiration wasn’t just about Dhoni’s on-field heroics but also his unflappable demeanor. 

“When you start knowing a player for who he is—his temperament, his way of being—oh my god. When he gets up, he’s so fast with his wicketkeeping! Koi bhi batsman itna bhi toe bahar gaya… Dhoni hai bhai, gaya tu (No matter how far a batsman steps out… Dhoni’s there, and poof—you’re gone!),” Bharucha gushed.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni’s recent IPL 2025 campaign has been challenging. The veteran captain returned to lead CSK after Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury but has struggled to finish games except for one. CSK’s batting has lacked firepower, and the team languishes near the bottom with just two wins from eight matches. 

On the other hand, Virat Kohli, continues to dazzle. Kohli has maintained his form in 2025, scoring vital runs for RCB and proving why he remains the league’s highest run-scorer. His franchise also reflects positivity with 5 wins out of their 8 games now.

As IPL 2025 completes it's first half, fans eagerly watch both icons, Kohli striving to lead RCB to glory and Dhoni fighting to restore CSK’s lost dominance.
