Indian cricket stalwart Virat Kohli has issued a clarification after screenshots of his like on actress Avneet Kaur’s social media photo went viral. Kohli stated that the interaction happened by mistake and he had no intent to do anything remotely similar.
Social media is a boon and a curse for celebrities, and recently Kohli was caught under the crossfire over a screenshot. The image, which went viral on social media, claimed that the former India captain liked an Instagram photo of actress Avneet Kaur.
However, after countless speculations and trolling on social media, Kohli came clean by issuing a clarification.

After the screenshot went viral, fans began to troll Virat Kohli and made wild assumptions about his alleged motive. However, the RCB star stepped in to clear the air once and for all.
In his Instagram story, the superstar batter said that while clearing his feed, a like was dropped on Avneet Kaur’s picture by mistake. He had no involvement or intent to do so and urged fans to stop speculation on it.
"I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absoultqly no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for understanding."
On May 1, when the alleged incident came to light, Kohli was active on Instagram as he dropped a heartwarming birthday wish for his wife Anushka Sharma.
Interestingly, Virat Kohli wiped his Instagram feed clean of all ads and brand promotions in the month of April. With 271 million followers, his account is a marketing powerhouse, but his actions left the fans puzzled.
