The Indian Premier League captures the imagination of the fans because of the intercity rivalries that it gives. The fans engage themselves emotionally and have intense involvement with the teams they support.

One of the biggest rivalries in IPL is that between the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB have defeated the Super Kings in the only clash that they had this year and will be looking to make a double for this season.

Rain Looms Large On The RCB vs CSK Match

However, as it seems now, the weather might prove to be an obstacle for the Rajat Patidar-led side in completing a total domination over the five time IPL champions. The two teams are scheduled to play against each other on the 3rd of May at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium

As predicted by AccuWeather, there is a 43% chance of rain on 3rd May evening in Bengaluru. There is also predictions of evening thunderstorms which might interrupt the game.

Even if there is rain interruption, the authorities will try and get a shortened game. Especially with the state of the art drainage system at the venue, a complete washout is something which might not be on the cards.

How Rain Will Affect The Campaign Of The Two Teams?

Chennai Super Kings have lost eight out of the ten matches they have played in IPL 2025. They were the first team to be eliminated from the play-off race of the tournament. So, the result of this game will not be of much significance for them, except hurting their chances of climbing up from the bottom most spot in the points table.

On the other hand are the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who have been brilliant in the tournament. For them this is a crucial game as they are looking to maintain their place within the top two spots in the points table.
