IPL great Ambati Rayudu blessed with child with wife Chennupalli

Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has been blessed with a baby boy, his third child with wife Chennupalli Vidya. The 40-year-old confirmed the same by sharing a picture of his wife and child on social media.

It is worth noting that Ambati Rayudu married his college friend Chennupalli back in February 2009, years before making his international debut for Team India.

Decorated IPL cricketer and CSK legend Ambati Rayudu posted a picture of his wife Chennupalli Vidya and their newborn child on his social media. Taking to Instagram, the former Indian batter shared the news by posting a hospital picture, and in the caption, he wrote, “happy to have been blessed with a baby boy”.

Soon after breaking the news, Ambati Rayudu got swarmed with a slew of congratulatory messages from several former teammates. Former cricketers Shikhar Dhawan, RP Singh and Harbhajan Singh as well as active fast bowler Deepak Chahar were among those who expressed their greetings in the comments section.

The CSK franchise also dropped an adorable message for Rayudu, and even described his newborn son a “lil Bahubali”.

Ambati Rayudu, a veteran of over 300 T20 matches, played 204 of them in the IPL for champion franchises like Mumbai Indians and the CSK. After winning three titles for the Mumbai Indians under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, Rayudu joined forces with CSK from 2018 onwards and played a key role in their title victories in 2018, 2021 and 2023.

To date, Ambati Rayudu remains one of the most decorated cricketers in the history of IPL with his name in six different title winning groups.

He also played 55 ODIs and six T20I matches for India, and was part of the team that lifted the 2018 Asia Cup in the UAE before announcing his international retirement in July 2019.
