The wait is almost over as Cricket's biggest carnival, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is just a day away as the excitement has reached its peak. The first match of the tournament will feature the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) up against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Eden Gardens.

However, prior to the start of the cash-rich league, there is an opening ceremony which will take place at the Eden Gardens with several performers gracing the stage with their enthu. Unlike the previous seasons, where only a single opening ceremony was conducted, the 2025 edition will witness all the IPL venues getting their own ceremonies.

However, in this piece, we will only talk about the ceremony prior to the first match of the IPL 2025 season and here are the list of performers for the mega event.

The opening event will be a mix of dance, music and laser show as several high-profile stars from various backgrounds are set to grace the stadium with their energetic performances. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also expected to watch the match and the ceremony.

IPL 2025 to begin with fiery contest

Following the opening ceremony, KKR and RCB will collide in the first match of the new season. Interestingly, both the teams have new captains in their ranks with Shreyas Iyer and Faf du Plessis leaving their respective sides.

KKR will be lead by new signing, Ajinkya Rahane and Rajat Patidar will lead the RCB side as the new captains will be eager to kick-start the tournament with a win.
