Actor and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has shared a heartfelt message following the unexpected suspension of the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals. This encounter was called off midway at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala due to security alerts in nearby regions.

Preity Zinta Apologises For 'Curt' Behaviour

In a detailed note posted on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Zinta expressed gratitude to the Indian Railways, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and other officials for managing the evacuation of players, match officials, and support staff in a safe and orderly manner.

“Finally back home after a crazy last few days,” Zinta wrote. “A heartfelt thank you to Indian Railways & our Railway minister Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw for helping both IPL teams and all officials & families leave Dharamshala in a safe, swift & comfortable way. A big thank you to @JayShah, Mr Arun Dhumal, BCCI & our CEO Mr Satish Menon & the Operations team of @PunjabKingsIPL for helping coordinate the evacuation of our stadium in Dharamshala safely & in an orderly manner. Everything was handled so well.”

It is important to note that Preity Zinta was present at the venue when the match was halted. She also extended her gratitude to the fans present at the stadium for maintaining calm during the evacuation process.

Several videos from the incident show her personally addressing the crowd, urging them to leave the stadium quietly and safely.

PBKS vs DC: Match Cancelled

The match was called off midway following air raid alerts in the neighbouring cities of Jammu and Pathankot amid rising border tensions between India and Pakistan. In the immediate aftermath, the BCCI issued a statement suspending the 2025 edition for a week as a precautionary measure.

All players, officials, and the broadcast crew were safely relocated to Delhi via a special railway arrangement organised in coordination with central and state authorities.
