Dhawan Admits Bringing Brunette Girl To Shared Room; Rohit's Reaction Will Leave You In Splits

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are one of India's most iconic opening pairs, known for their incredible understanding both on and off the field. Fans love their friendship, but Dhawan has recently revealed a secret from the past that has left people surprised and amused. 

In a candid moment from his autobiography "The One: Cricket, My Life and More", Dhawan shared a story from his early days in cricket, back in 2006, during an India A tour to Australia.

During the tour, Dhawan fell head over heels for a girl he refers to as “Ellen” in his book. According to him, she was extremely beautiful, and he quickly felt like she was “the one” he was meant to marry. 

At the time, Dhawan had started the tour well, scoring a half-century in a practice game. As his cricket went on, so did his love story. Every chance he got, he would sneak out to meet her. Eventually, he began bringing her into his hotel room, which he happened to be sharing with none other than Rohit Sharma.

While Rohit didn’t say anything too harsh, Dhawan remembers him complaining in a light-hearted way. He would say in Hindi, “Will you let me sleep?” 

Still, Dhawan didn’t stop. He was deeply in love and felt that he wasn’t doing anything wrong.

The situation escalated when Dhawan and Ellen were spotted holding hands and walking through the hotel lobby. A senior national selector, who was also on the tour, saw them together, and the news spread like wildfire throughout the squad. 

Dhawan admitted that it didn’t even occur to him to let go of her hand, as he truly believed they were just expressing love and not breaking any rules. 

"To me, we were committing no crime.”

Unfortunately, his form dipped during the tour, and he believes this affected his chances of making it to the senior Indian team at the time.

Shikhar Dhawan’s Love Life Now

Years later, Dhawan’s personal life continued to attract attention. After an 11-year marriage, he and his wife Aesha Mukherjee got divorced in 2023. The couple had a son, Zoravar, and Dhawan had previously opened up about how the separation affected his time with his child. But recently, he made headlines again, this time for a happier reason. In 2024, Dhawan revealed that he is dating a woman named Sophie Shine, an Irish-born woman. 

Along with this personal announcement, Dhawan also confirmed his retirement from all forms of cricket in 2024. He ended his career with impressive numbers. He played 34 Tests, 167 ODIs, and 68 T20Is for India, scoring a total of 10,867 international runs. 

His last appearance for India came in 2022 during an ODI against Bangladesh in Chattogram. He continued to play in the IPL, with his last game coming in April 2024, where he captained the Punjab Kings.
