In a recent development, Matheesha Pathirana, the Sri Lankan fast bowler, has deactivated his Instagram account, just after star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja did the same. The timing of both players' social media disappearances has added more fuel to the already heated trade rumours between CSK and RR.

Reports suggest that the two IPL franchises are in advanced discussions over a major trade deal that could see Sanju Samson moving from Rajasthan to Chennai. In return, RR are believed to be seeking Ravindra Jadeja and one more player from CSK, possibly Sam Curran or Matheesha Pathirana

According to the recent reports, talks between CSK and RR are in the final stages. The Royals have reportedly asked for two players from Chennai in exchange for their captain Sanju Samson. If the deal is done, it will mark one of the biggest trades in IPL history.

Matheesha Pathirana's Instagram account goes missing

Pathirana’s Instagram account disappeared suddenly over the weekend. While it is unclear whether the bowler has deactivated or temporarily suspended his account, but the fans immediately connected the move to ongoing transfer talks.

Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja’s Instagram account was also not found deactivated. It would not be wrong to say that the near disappearance of both accounts has caused a stir among the CSK fans, with many wondering if there are internal differences between the players and what could be the actual reason for this move.

It is important to mention that Pathirana joined CSK during the 2022 IPL season as a replacement player. Since then, the star player has played 32 matches for the 'Yellow Army' and picked 47 wickets at an economy rate of 8.68. His breakout season came in 2023, when he helped CSK win their fifth IPL title, taking 19 wickets in 12 matches at an economy of 8.00.

With just days left before the IPL retention deadline on November 15, the situation around Jadeja and Pathirana remains unclear. Both players' social media activity has added another layer to the ongoing trade buzz rumours.
