Sanju Samson has grabbed the headlines recently, with several reports claiming his potential trade from Rajasthan Royals to Chennai Super Kings. If reports are to be believed, Samson is desperate to shift his base from RR, and the Super Kings have emerged as the frontrunners to secure his services via a high-profile IPL trade. 

Amid all rumours and speculations, a CSK official has confirmed the franchise's interest in getting Samson on board while also giving a crucial update on the Royals' current stance.

According to the latest report, Sanju Samson could join Chennai Super Kings for the IPL 2026, with the Rajasthan Royals planning to get Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja in return from the five-time champions. However, as an IPL trade can only proceed after formal approvals from all players involved, plenty of uncertainties and doubts still loom over the high-profile swap. 

Meanwhile, a CSK official, as quoted by the Press Trust of India (PTI), has confirmed that they are hopeful of Sanju Samson joining them for the next season. However, he has also revealed that RR are yet to explore all their options and finalise their demand. 

"Everyone knows we are interested in getting Sanju. We have expressed our interest of procuring him in this trading window. RR is yet to confirm as their management said they are weighing the options. We are hopeful Sanju will play for CSK," the Super Kings official told PTI. 

Sanju Samson's IPL trade will empower CSK with a flamboyant keeper-batter option at the top order. While they already have the dynamic Ayush Mhatre and Urvil Patel in their squad, Samson's addition will further boost their batting lineup. 

Meanwhile, if reports are true, RR have apparently asked for Jadeja and Sam Curran in Samson's exchange. So, if such a trade is executed, the Royals will get a formidable all-round core, which they lacked in the previous season.
