After Pakistan bagged West Indies with a 127-run win in the 1st Test of the two-match series, the Men in Green are all set to clash again in the 2nd Test which is scheduled for January 25. The match will take place at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan and will commence at 10:00 AM IST.

Pakistan

Pakistan bagged a convincing win against West Indies in the first Test of the series. The stars of the show, Saud Shakeel, Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan shone with the bat to lead Pakistan to a good total. Meanwhile, Sajid Khan and Noman Ali obliterated the West Indies batting lineup with their 9 and 6 wicket haul respectively.

Heading to the next match, Babar Azam will also be expected to take up responsibility in the top order as he wasn't glamorous with the bat in the last Test. Faith will be once again placed on Sajid and Nauman with the ball so that the Men in Green ensure that they finish strong with a 2-0 sweep on their home ground.

West Indies

The West Indies batting lineup faltered miserably in the 1st Test except for Alick Athanaze who scored a fifty in second innings. The bowlers also couldn't do much to restrict Pakistan's onslaught. Jayden Seales (3) and Jomel Warrican's 10-wicket haul were the lone bright spots that saved them from a far worse defeat.

Nevertheless, with a power-packed batting lineup heading the Windies including Kraigg Brathwaite, Keacy Carty and Mikyle Louis, they will try to turn things around with a fresh approach in the 2nd Test. Meanwhile spearheaded by Jayden Seales and Warrican's spin, Brathwaite and Co. will try to end the series with a 1-1 leveller.

Pakistan vs West Indies: What happened when they last played?

The last time the two teams met for a Test match was the 1st Test of this two-match series. Pakistan cruised to a commanding 127-run victory over West Indies in the first Test, wrapping up the match within the second session on Day 3. Sajid Khan was the star of the show, claiming a stunning nine-wicket haul across both innings, including a game-changing 4th Test fifer in the final innings.

Chasing a challenging target of 251 on a spin-friendly Karachi surface, West Indies crumbled under pressure, managing only 123 runs in 36.3 overs. Alick Athanaze’s gritty half-century stood out amidst the chaos, but his efforts were in vain as Pakistan’s spin trio of Sajid, Noman Ali, and Abrar Ahmed ran riot. Earlier in the day, Jomel Warrican’s career-best seven-wicket haul briefly gave the visitors hope, bundling out Pakistan for 157 in their second innings.

However, the tone for Pakistan’s dominance was set in the first innings after electing to bat. Despite a shaky start at 46/4, a 141-run partnership between Saud Shakeel (84) and Mohammad Rizwan (71) helped the hosts post a competitive 237. West Indies faltered in their reply, skittled out for just 137, with Sajid and Noman sharing nine wickets. Pakistan’s second innings saw Shan Masood lead with a composed half-century, but a fiery spell from Warrican restricted the lead to 250.
