Months ahead of the IPL 2025 season, former CSK captain MS Dhoni was seen practising in nets at CSK academy. He flaunted big biceps and fans went gaga out about Thala's surreal fitness standards at the age of 43.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) retained MS Dhoni for a basic price of INR 4 crore for IPL 2025 season after the former legendary captain agreed to lower his price for the team’s needs. He was retained in the uncapped category since he entered the sixth year of his retirement from international cricket.

Dhoni was criticised last year for compromising match fitness. He struggled with knee and back issues throughout the IPL 2024 season. However, the wicket-keeper batter continued to serve his team, helping his successor Ruturaj Gaikwad adjust to the captaincy role.
