Pakistan faced disappointment in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025, but with the marquee tournament now finished, the Pakistan team will shift its focus to the upcoming two-match Test series against the defending World Test Championship (WTC) champions, South Africa. The series will start on October 12 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Following the first Test in Lahore, the second match will be held from October 20 to 24 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The red-ball series will be followed by three T20Is and as many ODIs.
It is important to note that Babar Azam was controversially left out of Pakistan’s Asia Cup squad, with concerns about his strike rate in white-ball cricket. However, the former captain has found a place in the Test squad.
Babar Azam’s light-hearted practice session
Having said this, the 'Men In Green' have started their practice for the upcoming series and in the recent video that has gone viral on social media, Babar Azam was seen lightly dancing, likely cracking jokes, and sharing laughs with teammates. In the clip, Babar was seen in a light mood, showcasing quirky dance moves.

Earlier in another video, Babar Azam was seen practising with focus and determination. He was training hard on his timing and footwork.
Why SA series is crucial for Babar Azam?
Babar Azam’s red-ball form has dipped recently. His last Test century came in December 2022 against New Zealand. Most recently, in Pakistan’s Test series against the West Indies, Babar managed just 45 runs across four innings. His out of form performance in the longest format of the game has even raised questions about his place in the XI.
And it would not be wrong to say that this upcoming series would be important for the star batter. With Pakistan taking on the SA, under the new cycle, the ace batter will be under scrutiny to deliver when it matters most.
